Prophet Elias's Greek Food Festival received the Gold Award 2013: Arts & Culture for the Best Festival Award!!! Congratulations to the parish members and friends of our Food Festival who work so hard to make such an award possible!!!

The readers of the Santa Cruz Weekly annually vote for their favorite local festivals, artists and museums, and choose the top personalities on the Santa Cruz County culture and media scene. We at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church are very thankful and appreciative of the strong and warm support that the residents of Santa Cruz give our Greek Food Festival. We are proud to be part of such a wonderful community!

WHAT IS THE ORTHODOX CHURCH?

"The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn't non-denominational, it is pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2000 years ago."

WELCOME

Thank you for visiting Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church's website. Our parish welcomes people of all ethnic backgrounds. Our mission is to be faithful to Our Lord Jesus Christ, who commanded, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

We are a sacramental and liturgical church under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis of San Francisco. Holy Communion is offered at every Divine Liturgy.

Are you new to the area? We invite you and your loved ones to attend and hope that you will find a home here.

We look forward to your presence as we gather and worship as a community of faith. Our ministries and organizations have places for many diffierent talents - yours are needed. Whatever we do, we do it in His name and we are grateful for your participation.

     God Bless You!

     Yours in Christ,

     Fr. Dennis (Dionysios) Vierling
